PS Plus Extra: Could ten PS4 games leave the PlayStation service in January?!

We only have a few weeks to try some of these PS4 titles as part of PS Plus Extra.

True Trophies has taken the trouble and scoured the PlayStation Store to find the PS Plus Extra and Premium games that will soon be leaving PlayStation’s paid service. The list they have come up with includes some pretty amazing titles.

These departure dates are from the PlayStation Store, so they’re official. There are currently 10 games leaving PS Plus Extra and Premium on January 17, 2023.

All ten games can be viewed in the list below; expect to say goodbye to glittering gems like The Council, Bound in Flame and Space Hulk Tactics to name a few.

If you’ve been keeping an eye on the trophy lists, now’s the time to try scrolling through some of these titles and get those juicy platinum trophies before they leave the service. Note that these games cannot be added to your library, so you will lose access to them with the January date.

All games coming out of PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium:

  • Bound by the Flame
  • Electronic super joy
  • Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek
  • Leo’s fortune
  • Soul Masters
  • Seasons after autumn
  • Shiness: Kingdom of Lightning
  • Space Hulk: Tactics
  • Advice
  • The Last Fixer: The City of Colors

Several games are saying goodbye early next year. Most of them have platinum trophies that are easy to get. Examples include Enigmatis, Seasons After Fall and The Council. You might focus on these first. Several games like The Last Tinker and Electronic Super Joy don’t have platinum trophies, so unless you’re a huge fan, you can skip them. The other platinum trophies seem a bit more time consuming and harder to get in the short amount of time available. Maybe it’s best to avoid them, unless you’re really into the game itself.

There have been some high-profile departures from PS Plus Extra in recent months, including Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and a backend mess that saw Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana temporarily taken off service.

The latest list of PS4 games removed from PS Plus Extra may not include big guns. But it’s worth quickly putting any of the titles listed at the top of your backlog if you’ve been thinking about playing them through your membership.
