Purchases a 40% stake in MBZ Elevated Toll Road, META: Like Proposing a Beautiful Girl

Jakarta

A subsidiary of PT Nusantara Infrastructure Tbk (META), namely PT Margautama Nusantara (MUN) officially becomes the owner of 40% shares of PT Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek (JJC) which operates the MBZ flyover. The delivery ceremony of the deed of sale of the shares was held.

Nusantara Chief Infrastructure Director Ramdani Basri said he was happy as the private sector was involved in the toll road sector previously dominated by the BUMN. The difficulty of the buying process is like making a proposal to a woman.

“It’s like proposing to a very beautiful girl, be careful every time you want to touch her, there are rules. So it took a while, we finally made it. Actually, the experience we need to learn is that it is not easy to deal with SOE, even if we have money,” Ramdani said at The Ritz-Carlton Pacific Place, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (12/21/2022).

Ramdani said PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk had doubts about his party’s ability to buy the shares of Jalan Layang MBZ. Understandably, the transaction to purchase 40% of the shares was very large, i.e. IDR 4.38 trillion.

“Thank God, it has been paid. So yesterday we had a deadline, in fact everything has been paid. So now we officially control 40% of MBZ shares. The funding source is partly from us, partly from the bank,” He said. explained.

Thus, the current shareholder composition of PT JJC is 40% owned by PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT), which is a sub-holding of Jasa Marga, 40% owned by PT MUN and the remaining 20% by PT RSP .

On the same occasion, the chief manager of Jasa Marga, Subakti Syukur said that the MBZ Flyover section is very attractive, so he must be careful. The section extending from Cikunir to West Karawang is promising because it is an alternative route for long-distance toll road users which also distributes the traffic volume of the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road.

“This is a really interesting part of the segment, in fact many want to join us. Growth will be very good in the future, so when we want to leave we are very careful, so it takes a long time,” Subakti said.
