The La Poste agent, who was making his rounds in the Basse-Gondeau district in Le Lamentin, was shot in the head.
A postman was attacked just before noon by a man as he was delivering mail. The 59-year-old La Poste agent received several blows with a stick. According to information from the Territorial Fire and Rescue Service, the man was injured in the head and face. He was transported conscious to CHUM.
According to a union representative from La Poste, the postman was ambushed.
La Poste unions have asked management to hold a CHSCT tomorrow. They also asked to set up a listening cell.
The company immediately filed a complaint. From tomorrow, a “post-assault” cell will be deployed in the distribution center to listen to the distraught agents.
