Clothing, posters, ear plugs: music boxes by artists often contain something not only for music fans. An overview.

Berlin/London – Musicians don’t just sell CDs for album releases, at least since streaming has been available. Rather, they bundle boxes with a wide variety of, sometimes exclusive, content. The choice is great. If you don’t have a present just before Christmas, you might want to check out these boxes. An overview of the different genres:

Sarah Connor box with socks and ear plugs

Socks are the ultimate Christmas gift when you’re out of imagination. In Sarah Connor (42) There is no shortage of boxes for the “Not So Silent Night” Christmas album. Anyone who likes to wash down a hearty meal with a grappa on Christmas Eve will also be happy with two glasses of grappa in the package. Labeled “Shots of Patron”, they are a reference to a song of the same name from the album.

Since the record is “Not So Silent”, there is an ironic content: earplugs. In addition to the obligatory CD, a poster and three postcards, the Christmas box also includes two labels that look great on a Christmas tree. The whole thing costs around 56 euros, a common price for boxes of this size.

Enjoy the 90s with Tokio Hotel

Old fans of the band Tokyo Hotel could sink into nostalgia with the box for the recently released “2001” album. The colours, design and content are reminiscent of the early 2000s. The poster, for example, may have appeared on Bravo 20 years ago, just like the stickers. In addition, the recipients will find there five photos, taken behind the scenes, which have never been published before, as the product description says – a highlight for true Tokio Hotel fans. These are Polaroids that match the retro design.

However, you should pay more attention to the shirt, as it is only available in sizes M and L. Those who do not fit this size will probably be disappointed. As a consolation, however, there are two CDs: one contains the original album and the other an instrumental version. At just under 52 euros, this designer box is one of the cheapest on the market.

Dermot Kennedy box set with sweatshirt and autographed tag

The price for the singer-songwriter box set Dermot Kennedy to the album “Sonder” is impressive – you have to spend about 80 euros for it. However, according to the product description, fans of him will receive a signed card from Dermont himself. In addition to the obligatory CD, there is also a light green sweatshirt.

The design is a matter of taste: under the lettering “Sonder” is a large photo of Kennedy, which is already shown on the CD and card. Below is the tracklist of the album. With this box, recipients receive three contents with the same photo.

Gentleman’s Hope T-Shirt

The star of German reggae Gentleman (48) released his new album ‘Mad World’ in December. It is about interpreting the crisis as an opportunity and facing it with hope and confidence. She matches the tee included in her pack. Not only is it deep green, considered the color of hope and peace, but it’s also printed with a globe and “GENTLEPEOPLE” across the front.

In addition, you can take almost any fan with you, because the shirt is available in sizes S to XXL. The overall design is simple – only those who look closely will recognize the “Gentleman” lettering on the back. In addition to the shirt, the CD is also included. At just under 45 euros, the box is relatively expensive in terms of contents.

Lots of songs and lots of Kiss merchandise

Kiss’ masked hard rockers are well known for wanting bigger, more colorful and louder – and sometimes more expensive. For the 40th anniversary of the cult album “Creatures Of The Night” Kiss have released a monstrous box set which also has a monstrous price. For just under 330 euros, die-hard Kiss fans get a nice package. Across five CDs and one Blu-ray disc, the super deluxe edition contains 103 songs, 75 of which are previously unreleased.

Alongside the remixed original album, which ranks among Kiss’ best, are countless demos, instrumental versions and – most interestingly – live recordings from the 1982-83 world tour. The box also includes tons of memorabilia, including a thick hardcover book, several posters, stickers, trading cards, guitar picks, patches, and other knick-knacks. Typical kiss.

Little people and big disappointments with Manfred Maurenbrecher

It was 1982 when the Berlin singer-songwriter Manfred Maurenbrecher, who was used to the small stage and played as a street musician, was brought to the big CBS label by Herwig Mitteregger from Spliff. Suddenly Bob Dylan was his label mate and Jim Rocket was his manager. Five major label LPs, radio play, tours solo and with a band followed. Celebrated by critics, he remains an artist all too unknown to the general public.

And this after almost 30 albums filled with intelligent thoughts: sometimes funny, sometimes angry, but always empathic and gently radical. For 40 years she has been singing about little people and big disappointments. The original five studio albums and bonus album “LoseEnden” have now been released in one CD package. “The CBS Years” is a great box set for fans, but also for those who want to discover the eternal insider tip. Price: about 50 euros.

Jewelry from the Queen archive

When the Queen musicians were working on their album The Miracle in the late 1980s, they recorded over 30 songs. Only ten ended up on the album, with a few more on the subsequent albums “Innuendo” and “Made In Heaven”. All the others have just been pulled from the archive for the massive five-disc collector’s edition of The Miracle. In addition to the remastered album, it contains some unreleased tracks such as “Face It Alone” or “When Love Breaks Up”.
