David Dvořák got his second consecutive loss. In the UFC, he wasn’t good enough for Angolan starboy Manel Kape, who won on points. At the end of the first round, however, he was about to finish when he nearly broke Dvořák’s arm.
David Dvořák was close to a shot at the title but then lost to Matheus Nicolau and it was clear he would have to wait. Next, he was given an opponent who presented quite a challenge.
Manel Cape was the favorite and he proved it right from the first minutes. The former Rizin champion at the end of the first round liked Dvořák’s hand in such a way that it was not a good show at all.
Despite the massive pain, Dvořák lasted until the gong and then completed the remaining rounds. However, he couldn’t use his hand much. Kape now spoke of breaking her if she wanted.
“I was at the stage where I was really breaking his arm. However, David showed a literal lion heart. He was just determined to sacrifice himself there. He has an amazing warrior soul. He clearly showed that he doesn’t want to lose the game for nothing. He’s tough, which obviously paid off.
I took it really well. I have to admit that I didn’t push in any way as I’m not here to hurt anyone unnecessarily. David has family and people around him, so I didn’t put unnecessary pressure on him.
I could have easily lowered my hands, which would have increased the pressure and leverage, so it would have hurt a little more. I could have broken his arm, but I didn’t need to. There was no need to go to extremes. David still has another career ahead of him and I don’t have to ruin it for him.
I thought I’d win without that kimura. In the first round we measured each other out and I knew it. When you’re facing another fighter like that, you just feel it. I knew I was faster and stronger. So there was no need to break his arm unnecessarily and take him home.” he said at a press conference.
If that’s true, then all that’s left is to slap Kap. He really enjoyed the match, in the third round he kept doing various stunts and in the end he was able to enjoy the victory.
