The Norwegian form of protest in a time of crisis is walking from Støre to Solberg. This is not voter rebellion for a whole new policy, but for a different governance.
Since the disastrous polls hit the Labor Party, there has been no shortage of scathing advice on what should be done. Where some believe the solution lies in shifting to the left and developing stronger SV ties, others find the recipe in the rhetoric of muted wealth and lower tax increases.
What advice has in common is that it reflects the point of view of the person giving it. This is not very wise when there is a “north wind on all sides”, to borrow a formulation from Aukrust. There are district rebellions and kingdom rebellions, poverty rebellions and electricity rebellions.
