The sadistic murder shocked the villagers of Lebakharjo, Ampelgading district, Malang regency. A woman named Linawati (33) was killed by her lover Sukarni (30). Once again, tragically, the murder was witnessed by Lina’s son.
The incident occurred at approximately 0715 WIB, Sunday (18/12). The victim was found with his neck nearly severed after being cut with a knife. Lina was killed at the home of her husband, Njudi.
Lebakharjo village head Sumarno said the victim met Sukarni at home with their children before being killed.
“At the time of the incident there was a 5-year-old child victim of Ngadilan and the child victim of Sukarni, 2 years old. For the court, he was not at home because he was working,” Sumarno told detikJatim.

1. Victim’s son yells “Mother killed, mother killed”
The incident became known to residents when they heard the screams of the victim’s son from inside the house. Lina’s son witnessed how her mother was brutally killed by Sukarni.
“At that moment, her 5-year-old son was yelling ‘mother is killed, mother is killed’ until he was heard from outside,” said Sumarno
When the residents were close to the victim’s house, they were shocked to see Sukarni come out of the house carrying a knife. Seeing this incident, the victim’s neighbor immediately contacted Sumarno at around 07:55 WIB. Sumarno later reported the incident to the police.
“I came to the scene to see the incident and then reported it to the police officer. Around 12:55 AM WIB Malang Police Criminal Investigation Unit came to the scene to conduct a TKP investigation (Case Incident ) and subsequently the victim’s house was given a police cordon,” explained Sumarno.
2. Relations between victims and perpetrators
Sumarno explained that Lina and Sumarno were known to have fled out of Java together for 4 years. Then they had a 2 year old. Sumarno himself was actually confused about the status of victim and perpetrator.
“After fleeing out of town, the victim finally returned to court. About 15 days later the perpetrators arrived and the murder took place,” Sumarno explained.
Even though she had eloped with Sukarni, Lina was still Ngadilan’s legal wife at that time. Sumarno didn’t know exactly what Lina and Sukarni’s current relationship was like.
“I don’t know their relationship for sure, it looks like an affair because the victim is still Ngadili’s legal wife,” Sumarno said.
