Epic Games fined $520 million

In the statement released by the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC), it was reported that Epic Games will pay a total of 520 million dollars, 275 for violating the privacy rights of children and 245 for deceiving users into making payments unwanted.

FTC Chairwoman Lina Khan said in her assessment of the matter that Epic Games uses privacy-invading settings and interfaces that mislead Fortnite users.

Khan stressed that protecting the public, and especially children, from online privacy violations is a top priority for the FTC.
