Two house burglars were stranded on Monday afternoon after a long chase on the Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht environmental road. Earlier in the day, they raided a house in Rijpwetering municipality, northeast of Leiden. The resident was threatened and assaulted. The perpetrators fled with the victim’s car, which ended up more than 60 kilometers away in front of the barriers of the Ambachtse waste station.
