The organizer of the World Cup in Qatar, Hassan Al Thawadi was very satisfied after the end of the competition, stating that it was a success.
“It’s been a long 27 days. But I have to say I feel pride, happiness, taste, it far exceeded expectations. The first World Cup in the Middle East, with great football, as we promised, a great atmosphere from the fans…many were delighted with the opportunity to see more than one match a day in the stadium. Many have seen four games in one day. This World Cup has changed the perception of this part of the world and has also allowed us to show the best of us », he said.
Hassan Al Thawadi also stressed that organizing the tournament was a victory for the Arab people. “It was a celebration of the Arab people, our culture, our tradition, our history. People may have arrived with different opinions, especially Europeans. But when they got in touch with the Qatari community, with the Arab community and with our hospitality, many of them changed their mind, taking on a different view,” he concluded.
