Yesterday morning there was a road accident at kilometer 36 of the Calarcá – Cajamarca highway, near the sector known as Itaic, in which five vehicles were involved.
In that accident, a woman who worked as a traffic inspector lost her way and at least four people were injured.

Five vehicles traveling yesterday morning on the Calarcá – Ibagué road were involved in a road accident that left four people injured and a woman, identified as Angela Patricia Morales Bonilla, originally from Cajamarca and who worked as a road signer for the Latinco consortium on that stretch of road.
According to Captain Iván Ferney Acosta Ramírez, head of the Transit and Transportation Section of the Tolima Police, the multiple accident occurred on the morning of Sunday December 18, at kilometer 36 of the Calarcá – Ibagué highway, an area known as Itaic, on route 4003A, in which at least four people were injured and one person died.
The vehicles involved were a gray Kia Sportage van, the driver of which was taken to hospital to check for injuries; Also involved was a white Chevrolet truck with license plate SPU 533, driven by a person with a fracture of the radius and ulna in his right arm, for which he was transferred to the Calarcá hospital.
The occupant of a motorbike was similarly affected and transferred to the Santa Lucía de Cajamarca hospital; as well as a Chevrolet Aga Spirit public service bus, affiliated with the company Expreso Palmira, with internal number 8217 and registration WHW 157, driven by a man who suffered a fractured clavicle in his right shoulder and was taken to La Misericordia de Calarcá hospital . . A white Foton-brand truck carrying a container was also involved, but the driver escaped unharmed.
Cause of the accident
This truck spoke to the driver of a skateboard-type semi-trailer truck who witnessed the event, who said the incident occurred because the white truck, license plate SPU 533, apparently ran out of brakes and collided with the truck. the motorcycle and eventually got stuck in the back of Expreso Palmira’s S26 bus, which managed to hit another truck carrying a container.
