FC Barcelona and Premier League clubs are now fighting for the signing of the best midfielder of the 2022 World Cup, Sofyan Amrabat.
French President Emmanuel Macron said Amrabat was the best midfielder of the tournament when he visited Morocco’s dressing room after losing to France in the semi-final.
Now clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool, West Ham United and Newcastle United are lining up to get the Moroccan to join them.
The Fiorentina midfielder was linked up with Tottenham during the summer transfer market but the deal never came.
Transfer market reports that FC Barcelona want to sign the Moroccan to replace the aging Sergio Busquets,
The press release adds, however, that Fiorentina’s priority is to exercise the option to renew the contract in Amrabat as soon as the player returns to Florence after his participation in the World Cup.
The Moroccan joined the Italy squad in January 2020 and made 78 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring one goal.
