Two observant citizens probably prevented worse things from happening last Friday (Dec. 16). At around 20:50 in Lüdinghausen, they stopped a motorist from Lünen on Sender Strasse. The reason: the man rode strong snakes and got into oncoming traffic again and again. At the same time, the two citizens called the police.
When officers checked the driver he said he drank three beers, according to a Coesfeld police press release. A voluntary breath alcohol test then showed that alcohol was still detectable in his body. Lüner’s test showed a value of 0.96 milligrams per liter of breathing air.
Maximum value at 0.5 per thousand
Since 1998, motor vehicle drivers may not consume more than 0.25 milligrams of alcohol per liter of breath. A maximum of 0.5 per thousand is applied to the blood alcohol content. If you have more, you commit an administrative offense and from 1.1 per thousand you get your license revoked.
Lünen’s driver had a blood sample taken after an alcohol breath test at the Lüdinghausen police station and was prohibited from driving vehicles that require a driver’s license until he was completely sober.
