Minnesota enjoys scoring 150 points against the Bulls

What a party the Timberwolves had last night. It’s true that Chicago isn’t at its best – far from it – but seeing the Minnesota team score 150 points in 48 minutes isn’t normal either.

So it happened. Although the Bulls held up in the first half and even closed the first quarter ahead, in the second half the distances grew to the point that the Minneapolis franchise experienced a placid endgame; and is that with just over four minutes to go they won by up to 18 points. There was no fight. Wolves prevailed 150-125.

Anthony Edwards was spectacular with 37 points, 11 assists and 7 rebounds, while his teammate in defense zone, D’Angelo Russell seconded him perfectly with 28 goals to which he added eight assists. After the game, the point guard spoke about the trust that was generated in the team.

“We talk about confidence, having the right focus, seeing familiarity with our rotation and stuff like that. This just allows you to be safe and comfortable. The coach is allowing things to happen by giving confidence to our group. He just gives you that energy and confidence that you want to have,” he analyzes.

Chicago debacle

The 150 points the Bulls received from Minnesota are the fourth most they have allowed in their history. Such a thing is so unlikely to happen that it hasn’t happened since November 3, 1982, the night the Detroit Pistons scored 152 points. In addition, and beyond this specific result, he has accumulated four consecutive defeats and six in his last eight games. As usual, DeMar DeRozan was not happy at all.

“This should be the last time we learn the lesson of letting something slip, not being connected, not being one, not understanding what needs to be done collectively to help each other… It’s embarrassing to get so many points. I have nothing against Minnesota, but it was like playing against the 2016 Golden State Warriors.”

The Illinois forward finished his performance with 29 points. Behind him were Nikola Vucevic with 23 and Zach LaVine with 22. They have a lot of work ahead of them in Chicago.
