A study by researchers at Kean University in New Jersey, published in the scientific journal PLOS ONE, suggests that social interaction is the secret to being less sedentary. This is because encouragement from someone else can be enough to push someone to develop a healthier lifestyle.
It has also been possible to note that, alone, people are less likely to develop an active lifestyle than when accompanied. So researchers go so far as to suggest that the main secret to being active is having a friend who is even more active than you to motivate you.
