Apple introduced regular displays to iPhones with the iPhone 14 series, but in the iPhone 14 series, the feature is available on two advanced phones: iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, but Apple’s idea of what is always displayed is not a problem. What everyone expects, and what’s always special, has been available on most Android phones for years.
Instead of being completely dark like on Android, the default screen on the iPhone 14 Pro is always on, so what you get on the iPhone is dimmed, showing the time and widgets if you have them on screen.
But for now, you can change the default display mode on the iPhone 14 Pro series (iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max), so if you don’t set the default display mode on the iPhone 14 Pro model, here’s how:
Open Settings and go to Display & Brightness.
Always tap on the screen.
Turn on the switch to always show.
The screen is always on.
However, you’ll notice that it’s a little different than what you’ve seen on Android phones.
If you feel that way, here’s how to change the default settings on iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max to look like Android.
Open Settings, then Display & brightness
Go to All show times
Turn on Always On Display if it’s not on.
Turn off the Show Wallpaper switch if you want a black screen all the time.
You can also choose to turn off Show notifications.
You will always have a dark screen on iPhone 14 Pro, even iPhone 14 Pro Max and you will not receive notifications, giving you a simple and clear view at all times.
If you want to set up Apple’s always-on display, you don’t need to do any of these options. And if you’re hoping for full-time screen like Android, those are the two options you should turn off.
