The Road Traffic Center warns of slippery roads from the Swedish border to Lyngdal

– There is a risk of freezing rain or rain freezing to the ground after 7.00pm on Sunday, writes Vegtrafikksentralen south on Twitter.

There is a warning of ice and slippery roads at yellow level. The danger zone extends from Lyngdal in the west to Kongsvinger in the east.

The danger will be greatest in Agder in the early evening hours. Later in the evening, similar conditions will also play out in Eastern Norway.

Varsom.no writes that ice can be hard to see in some spots. There will be local differences and the alert will apply until around 4pm on Monday evening.

The Meteorological Institute reports Sunday evening that a shift to warmer weather is expected on Monday. This will lead to ice and slippery roads across much of the country south of Bodø.

– Be especially careful even in the mountains, as snow flurries and poor visibility are expected in some places, forecasters warn.

Warmer weather is not here to stay just yet. During the week it will freeze again, even in Eastern Norway. On Christmas Day, the temperature in Oslo could drop to minus 17 degrees, according to long-term forecasts.
