Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has proposed holding a global summit this winter to discuss ending the conflict in Ukraine, British TV channel ITV reported, citing Zelensky’s video speech on the eve of the World Cup final.
“This World Cup proved once again that different countries and nations can bring out the strongest in a fair fight, not playing with fire. In war there are no champions, there can be no equality.” at a summit this winter to “unite all the countries of the world around the issue of achieving global peace.”
Earlier, the American television company CNN reported that the International Football Federation (FIFA) refused Zelensky’s request to make a video speech before the start of the final match of the World Cup in Qatar. The decisive match of the championship at the Lusail National Stadium will start on December 18 at 17:00 Bulgarian time with the participation of the national teams of Argentina and France.
