The PPP asks Anies to prove the government’s charge of dismissing criticism

Jakarta

PPP Denies NasDem Party Presidential Candidate Allegations, Anies Baswedan, which offends the current government sometimes stifles criticism. PPP stressed that the government of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is not anticritical.

“There is nothing that is anticritical, everything can be criticized. Even Pak Jokowi is criticized after being relaxed,” PPP DPP chairman Achmad Baidowi o Awiek told reporters on Saturday (12/17/2022).

Awiek asked Anies to prove his allegations. According to him, Anies should not raise issues that could bring disgrace to the Jokowi government.

“So Anies should just prove it, there’s no need to play the victim. It’s better to just explain, which examples are what. Not just lead to problems that actually cause unnecessary ugliness,” she said.

Anies’ statement on the government ‘turns off’ criticism

Earlier, Anies Baswedan spoke about himself, which often received criticism from various quarters. He then mentioned the current government, which sometimes shuts down criticism.

The moment Anies discussed this criticism was broadcast in a podcast with Imam Priyono and Hendri Satrio broadcast on YouTube R66 Newlitics. Anies initially explained that she often received rejection from elsewhere when he did something.

“Is it normal (others refuse), what is called disappointment? Disappointment is if it doesn’t live up to expectations, if it meets expectations, don’t be disappointed, those of us who studied science, then go to school, education , read, read history, nothing in history that in the political arena agrees 100%./12). detikcom was allowed to quote content from Hendri Satrio’s podcast.

Anies explained that in politics there must be parties that disagree. He said he didn’t panic when it happened.

“There are definitely those who disagree, there are definitely those who disagree at all, this is a story of hundreds of years, then when we see someone who disagrees we keep saying ‘ouch, ouch , panic’, no, it has been like this since the beginning. That is, freedom of opinion, respected, given a place, there is no need to be eliminated, it is part of normality. And the difference makes us have to give more explanations, more arguments, for whose benefit? public,” he said.

Anies then shared his experience when he was governor of DKI Jakarta. He admits that he often receives criticisms, to which ultimately these criticisms have to be resolved one by one.

Anies then mentioned the current government which tends to shut down these criticisms. He admitted he was surprised because the criticism was actually public education, as long as it wasn’t a hoax and hate speech.

“Well, sometimes when the government shuts down criticism, please call, criticize no more. For a moment, that’s actually public education, it’s there forever, as long as it’s factual, as long as it doesn’t spread lies and hate, that that’s all, it’s normal. So if there are some who disagree, that’s fine, but there are also those who agree,” Anies explained.
