– The Metro essentially works as it should. This means that we will get rid of the broad masses, Knut-Martin Løken, press officer at Ruter, told Avisa Oslo.
Because it’s also the only thing that goes according to plan: both the bus and the tram ran into a series of problems on Saturday.
– We had many challenges. We drive under very challenging circumstances in several places, says Løken.
Several bus lines have been completely or partially closed.
– It’s because it’s slippery and there’s a lot of snow. In some stops it is not possible to stop and then start again. In other places, the plowing is so poor that it’s too much effort for any type of vehicle to get off, says Løken.
– Do not enter traffic
The press watchdog calls the delays “enormous”.
– It was a very busy day in public transport. Importantly, this also applies to traffic otherwise. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
To get information about individual lines, Løken asks passengers to check Ruter.no or the Router app.
– We publish information there all the time, he adds.
But Ruter prefers that as few people as possible make the journey today in traffic:
– If you plan to travel, I would advise you to familiarize yourself as much as possible with the circumstances on your line now and allow plenty of time.
AND:
– If it’s not necessary, I would advise people not to go out into traffic at all.
