The “National Security Strategy”, revised after 9 years, clearly reveals Japan’s intentions.
Before the revision, the “territorial issue of Dokdo was a policy of settling disputes in accordance with international law”, but after the revision, the expression “Dokdo, which is the territory of Korea” was inserted again.
It was blatantly stated that it was “their turf”.
Politicians immediately voiced their critical voices.
People’s Power urged Japan to immediately delete and withdraw the content, saying, “We strongly protest the inclusion of Dokdo’s land claims.”

“Dokdo is Korean territory both historically and under international law.
In particular, the ruling party fears that Japan’s unreasonable claims could throw cold water on the improvement of Korea-Japan relations that Yoon Seok-yeol’s government has worked hard on.
“If you borrow the illogical idea of Japan, Tsushima is also Korean territory,” MP Tae Young-ho, the ruling party secretary of the National Assembly’s Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee, warned.
The Democratic Party also said, “We cannot stand by as Japan has openly revealed its ambitions for our territory because it lacks a declaration of military expansion.”
Stressing the fact that the pro-Japanese diplomacy of the Yoon government that led to Japan’s provocation was in the background, he said, “Will you continue to promote the strengthening of military cooperation between Korea, the United States and Japan?”

“I am concerned that the government of Yoon Seok-yeol, which maintains low-key diplomacy towards Japan, will be able to adequately contain Japan’s ambitions.”
As for whether Japan has actually broken the “principle of exclusive defense,” which allows the exercise of defense power only when attacked, the Democratic Party said, “It will accelerate the arms race in Northeast Asia and will further increase military tension.” and criticized.
