United StatesShe asks her husband for help, he attacks her with the Christmas tree
For the 23rd time in 25 years, a 50-year-old Florida resident was arrested and charged with forced confinement and domestic violence.
Kate* was busy in the kitchen at her home in Fruitland Park, Florida when she asked her husband to come help her on Monday evening. Greatly upset by this request, Richard Atchinson became angry and the couple started arguing. During this incident, the 48-year-old American dropped a spoon into the sink, accidentally splashing her husband. At the end, the 52-year-old packed his bags and headed for his car, before changing his mind and asking his wife to leave.
As Kate was trying to leave the house, her husband pushed her violently, nearly knocking her to the floor. Shaken, the 40-year-old went to sit in the living room, where a friend was visiting the couple that evening. Shortly thereafter, Atchinson grabbed the Christmas tree in the corner of the room and threw it in the direction of the kitchen, snapping it in two. The individual picked up one of the two parts and tossed it to his wife, describes the “Daily Mail”.
Try to break down the door
Terrified, Kate ran for refuge in a room, but her husband followed her and tried to break down the door. When police arrived at the scene, the 50-year-old was still yelling at him. When questioned by police, Atchinson said he “lost his nerve” but only had a “verbal” discussion with his wife. He added that she had reconsidered her decision to leave the house because he had been drinking alcohol.
Kate was not injured in this assault. Her husband was arrested and charged with forced confinement and domestic violence. This is the 23rd time since 1997 that Richard Atchinson has been arrested for similar acts.
