CASTLE. ASICS Penyagolosa Trails 2023 kicks off with the already traditional presentation ceremony with the drawing of numbers. A characteristic moment of the test in which the participants in the MiM got to know the lucky numbers. The vote drawn by the president of the provincial council, Jose MartYes, it was 1164, so the winners will go from the same number to 2663.
This Friday’s event was led by the journalist tena violet and was attended by the aforementioned President of the Provincial Council, José Martí; sports representative, Tania Banos; the fireman, Abel Ibanez; the director general of sport of the Generalitat Valenciana, Josep Miquel Moya; the delegate of the Presidency in Castelló, eva redondo; the representative of the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation, Daniele Olmos; the marketing manager of ASICS Iberia, Santiago Martinez; in addition to representatives of Villarreal FC, Facsa, Nutrinovex, Anitin, the municipalities that are part of the honor committee and the partner clubs.
The president of the Diputación stressed that “we need a socially sustainable interior for people to stay in the cities. Because in the cities we have the feeling that when we talk about sustainability it is as if the people who live there have stayed ” . In this sense he added that “I must say that Penyagolosa Trails places us at the top of the great mountain races, generates an economy and constitutes an invaluable image and advertising campaign. In other words, it contributes to making our interior more socially sustainable”. .
For his part, the director of ASICS Penyagolosa Trails, Tico Cerverahighlighted that “it will be the first absolutely normal edition from 2019. With pre-registered numbers that are a sign of the desire to make up for lost time (like the protagonist of the novel by Marcellus Proust In search of lost time). As in previous years, we would have liked to see everyone at the starting line, but we must not exceed the capacity of the trials, both for environmental responsibility and for the runners to receive the attention they deserve”.
Tico Cervera also wanted to thank the efforts of the Provincial Council of Castellón and the Valencian Generalitat in the recovery of Sant Joan de Penyagolosa, an emblematic place of the province and target of the MiM and the CSP. Finally, he indicated that “ASICS Penyagolosa Trails is more than a sporting event, we want to spread the values of sport, nature and health, help revitalize the territory of the interior of our province and that the event is an experience of sport and tourism for runners and runners and companions”.
A check for 1,460 euros was also presented to the Spanish Cancer Association during the event, which corresponds to one euro per finisher that ASICS Penyagolosa Trails delivers to this cause. At the end of the act, a family photo was taken with all the sponsors, institutions and collaborating companies.
