Kendari (ANTARA) – As many as 300 personnel of the Mobile Brigade Unit (Brimob) of the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda) are getting flu vaccinations to prevent the body from contracting the flu during field operations.
Polda Southeast Sulawesi AKP Mobile Brigade Operations Section (KBO) Chief Asri Diyni in his written statement received in Kendari on Friday said that the implementation of the vaccination was a preventive program for the police which was carried out in cooperation with the Bhayangkara of Kendari Hospital Tk II.
“This activity involved the medical team of Satbrimob Polda Sultra Police working with the medical team of Bhayangkara Hospital to assist in the implementation and administration of vaccines to personnel of the Southeast Sulawesi Police Mobile Brigade Unit “, he has declared.
Asri said that with the flu vaccine activity provided to the personnel of the Mobile Polda Southeast Sulawesi Brigade, it could boost the body’s immunity against the virus to face and be ready to perform field duties.
According to Asri, every day there are more and more troops from the Mobile Brigade Unit of the Southeast Sulawesi Police on the field and for this reason he hopes that the administration of the flu vaccine can increase the body’s immune defenses, so that the Polri personnel on duty in the field can work optimally.
“For the personnel who received the flu shot today i.e. up to 300 Mobile Brigade members in Southeast Sulawesi according to the target given by Bhayangkara Hospital. Thank God it was achieved according to the given target” said AKP Asri representing the Mobile Brigade Unit Commander for the Kombes Pol Adarma Sinaga of the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police.
Influenza vaccination chief Nurnaningsih said recent studies have shown that patients who received an annual flu shot before contracting the virus have a very good level of protection.
“Besides vaccination activities, health checks and vitamins are also carried out to improve the health of Mobile Brigade personnel in Southeast Sulawesi,” he said.
