Official data from the Ministry of Health revealed that the number of contracted hospitals accredited by the Central Council for the Accreditation of Health Institutions; 65 out of 287 hospitals, which means that the number of accredited hospitals is less than 23%.
According to the statistical book of the Ministry of Health for the year 2021, the total number of hospitals in the Kingdom has reached 497, of which 287 are affiliated with the Ministry of Health, 51 hospitals affiliated with other government bodies and 159 hospitals affiliated with the sector private.
The data indicates that the number of Ministry of Health hospitals approved by the Council is 65, and the number of hospitals in other accredited government agencies is 38, while the number of private sector hospitals approved by the Council is 115.
