Bandung aims for zero HIV/AIDS cases by 2030

BANDUNG – Bandung Mayor Yana Mulyana aims for Bandung to have ‘3 zero’ HIV/AIDS cases by 2030. Zero new survivors, zero HIV/AIDS deaths, and zero HIV/AIDS stigma and discrimination.

“Our key to tackling HIV/AIDS is to obtain or reach data from PLHIV (people living with HIV/AIDS,” Yana said at the Bandung city-wide 2022 AIDS Day Commemoration on Thursday 15 December 2022.

“I appreciate the cooperation that has been established among stakeholders in addressing HIV/AIDS in the city of Bandung. This is a real action that is in line with the theme of AIDS Day 2022,” he added.

Meanwhile, Bandung City Government and Public Welfare Assistant Asep Saeful Gufron said the Bandung city-wide AIDS Day 2022 commemoration aims to increase the commitment of all parties in the ‘tackling HIV/AIDS cases in Bandung city.

Furthermore, ASEP said, this event aims to appreciate all strata who have contributed to addressing HIV/AIDS cases in Bandung city.

“HIV/AIDS cases in Bandung city are relatively high. So it needs the role of all stakeholders to overcome it,” Asep said.

This event is also combined with various activities. Among them were the announcement of the 1st and 2nd best AIDS Care Citizens (WPA) awards by region (12 districts), the announcement of the award for the District WPA Forum Program Favorite Video Champion, Report and Innovation category.

In addition, the provision of capital assistance to the HIV/AIDS community as well as nutritional assistance for ADHA from Baznas of Bandung City and appreciation for AIDS care companies, and the awarding certificates of appreciation to 30 sub-district WPA forums.
