In the course of 2022, 100 police officers took up their duties at the police stations of the city and district of Offenbach and at the criminal investigation department of the police headquarters of South-East Hesse, 35 of them at the various police stations of the district. 65 officers came to the districts of the city of Offenbach or to the criminal investigation department.
District administrator Oliver Quilling and mayor Dr. Felix Schwenke warmly welcomed the new arrivals in the presence of police chief Eberhard Möller in the district council meeting room of the Dietzenbach prison. “Being a police officer means working hard, being ready day and night, making a lot of personal sacrifices and taking a lot of risks. We all still remember the police killing of Kusel earlier this year. That’s why I’d like to thank you for making the decision to enter this important profession about three years ago,” said District Administrator Oliver Quilling. “Because it’s you who, with your commitment and work, not only protect every single citizen , but also stand up for freedom in our society. Because there is never freedom without security».
The mayor of Offenbach, Felix Schwenke, also thanked the young men and women for their willingness to accept an unusual job. “Your job is incredibly demanding. While you may be exposed to great danger out of nowhere, you must always conduct yourself with the utmost courtesy and proper behavior. At the same time, your work is irreplaceable for people’s safety and the protection of democracy,” Schwenke emphasized and assured the officials and district administrator Oliver Quilling of his unrestricted support.
