ANNOUNCEMENTS

New residents of a home in Ede have found a mummified dog or fox under the carport of their home. They found the pet dead during cleanup.

The four-legged friend has a broken leg and a hole in the rib cage, but the carcass is otherwise still in good shape, he writes. Gelderland broadcast. According to taxidermist Erwin van Zoelen, it must have been a nice draft at the carport for the animal to mummify.

“So that it hasn’t had a chance to dampen and rot. When the wind blows, the flies don’t land on it and don’t have time to eat the body,” explains Van Zoelen. According to the animal ambulance employees it is a dog, but according to van Zoelen it could also be a fox.

Chip

It is not known how long the animal has been there. Animal ambulance Gelderse Vallei tried to trace the owner. Because the animal doesn’t have the chip, this is difficult: “Until years ago we searched the Amivedi archives, since that is a platform where people register missing animals. But unfortunately nothing came up”, says an employee to the regional broadcaster. .

If no one reports as owner, the pet will be cremated. The ashes will be scattered “in a nice place in the woods”.
