A fired policeman and the mayor’s son beat up his 95-year-old grandmother in Plovdiv (Updated)

Everyone is responsible for their own actions, commented the prisoner’s father

Ivan Dachev is the man who brutally beat his 95-year-old grandmother in Plovdiv. Prosecutor Neno Dimov, who oversees the pretrial proceedings of the case, earlier announced the brutal beating.

Ivan is the son of Zapryan Dachev, the longtime former mayor of the Maritsa commune. He was fired from the police on disciplinary grounds for violations related to unregulated business activities. He is also known as a participant in the protests in 2020.

According to the prosecutor’s office, Ivan Dachev abused alcohol. At the age of 13 he raised a scandal with his 95-year-old grandmother Gena and attacked her in a fight. The next day there was another fight and the nephew inflicted an even harder beating. The elderly woman was operated on at UMBAL “St. George” and is in a coma.

“Everyone is responsible for their own actions. All my life I have worked for the good of the ordinary people and for my authority,” a bitter Zapryan Dachev commented to “24 Chasa”. He added that the beaten woman was his mother-in-law and his son’s maternal grandmother.
