After the complaints, the Health Surveillance of Santa Catarina has banned this Thursday morning (15), 3 tanning machines that have been installed in aesthetic and beauty establishments in Rio Negrinho. The use of this type of equipment for aesthetic purposes has been prohibited in the country since 2009 with a resolution by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa).
Exposure to UVA lamps increases the risk of developing melanoma, the most serious type of skin cancer, by 75% due to damage to skin cells. Furthermore, lack of hydration, damaged cells, destroyed collagen and loss of elasticity cause the skin to age, causing the first wrinkles, as well as vision problems, also due to the presence of ultraviolet light and sunburn.
