Trifonov: Nelepitsa… there is no way to become a government – Bulgaria

“No, it’s not vaudeville, it’s a pitiful Bulgarian farce. Everyone knows there’s no way to become a government, but everyone, like some bad actors, plays this pathetic theater, as if the government were only at arm’s length ” wrote the leader of “There is such a people” Slavi Trifonov on his Facebook profile.

“Accusations, insults, promises, lies, charlatans and all sorts of attitudes, just to leave the impression that they are working and will solve things in a responsible and concerned way, crises and lead this suffering Bulgarian people.

And, of course, the media are intensely filming this whole theater of the absurd, calling familiar political analysts to grief, wisely explaining how things are and everything is as it should be. Of course, the important question is who believes this whole story and who cares. Of course, if I were in parliament, it would be all my fault. But I’m not. So I’m not important. And for better or for worse, I’m just a spectator.

And when I said “spectator” I thought maybe what we’re watching is a very expensive, loud, special political New Years program. Vezhdi Rashidov is Santa Claus, Desislava Atanasova – Snow White, and Kiril Petkov and Asen Vassilev, these mischievous little charlatans, are the Seven Dwarfs. And why are there only two? Well, like why – why “don’t” we have people.

But this is not a New Year’s program, but the objective truth about Bulgarian political life. And I am increasingly convinced that the forester should come and put the forest in order, holding a referendum on convening a Grand National Assembly to decide whether Bulgaria should become a presidential republic. And so there are no New Year’s inventions – when I say “The Forester”, I mean the ruler, the Bulgarian, the Bulgarian people or whatever each of us calls it,” said Slavi Trifonov.
