On Tuesday, a room equipped with various means of entertainment and relaxation was inaugurated in the pediatric emergency room of the Center-Hospitalo-Universitaire Mustapha Pacha, for the benefit of children with chronic respiratory diseases. This pilot initiative, launched by hospital managers and doctors, in coordination with the “AstraZeneca” laboratories, aims to improve the level of therapeutic assistance for the benefit of children with chronic respiratory diseases, such as asthma and allergies, often hospitalized for a long time to receive treatment. In this context, Mr. Badji Abdelkader, Manager of the Physical Facilities Department of the hospital, said that this room is intended for “to children who come to the hospital from different parts of the country to receive long-term care”stating that he was equipped with “all the necessary means of entertainment and recreation, such as books, educational games and television, to give these children the opportunity to have fun and alleviate their suffering”. For his part, the director general of AstraZeneca laboratories in Algeria, Fouad Beghli, said that through this initiative, “We want to help children with chronic respiratory diseases by offering them a space appropriate to their state of health, providing them with the necessary means of entertainment and relaxation, developing their culture and making them feel in a family atmosphere”adding that “These initiatives will be generalized at the level of hospitals in the different regions of the country”.
