The flagship sedan of the Japanese brand has received another facelift, which for 2023 will offer, among other things, an attractive 20th anniversary edition.
Template Mazda6 with sedan and station wagon bodywork, it played the role of the top model of the Japanese brand for many years. In Europe, this role has recently been taken over by the Mazda CX-60, a large SUV with an all-new rear-wheel drive platform and the option of a six-cylinder unit. The seven-seat CX-80 will likely sit above this model.
From the very beginning there were rumors that the new generation of “sixes” would also get this technology. However, information from recent months indicates that the Mazda 6 will not receive a direct successor and the Japanese will prefer SUVs and crossovers over the entire model range. However, this does not mean the definitive end of sedans and station wagons, on the contrary. Mazda presents small innovations for 2023. And also an elegant limiter.
The Mazda 6 20th Anniversary Edition is a commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the launch of the first generation. It hit the market in May 2002 and was sold in Japan under the Atenza name. The Limitka receives a specific Artisan Red Premium red paint, in which the Japanese creators have applied their own Takuminuri paint technology for the fourth time. The exterior is further characterized by an edition logo on the bumper, a silver painted front grille and a specific design of nineteen inch wheels.
In the cabin, it has 20th Anniversary Edition logo headrests, brown headrests, brown Nappa leather upholstery, and a dashboard trim panel with a matte brown finish.
Other innovations concern all trim levels, such as the improved power steering with an additional motor that improves response at medium and high speeds. Mazda 6 also boasts more advanced autonomous driving, Apple CarPlay wireless mirroring and wireless charging of smart devices.
You can already order the Mazda 6 2023 from authorized dealers. The annual special starts at 1,103,600 CZK. Although this is a limited edition, the specific number of pieces for the Czech market is not yet known. But we know that the first cars will appear in our country during the first quarter of next year.
