Francesco Guccini and the bad mishap that concerned him firsthand: here’s what happened, the details of the story
Italian writer and actor among the most representative and popular Italian songwriters, he made his debut in 1967 with the LP Popular Beat No. 1 releasing about twenty albums of songs. An all-round artist, he has repeatedly made his voice heard on a political and social level denoting a familiarity of the use of verse and also taking part in the teaching of schools as an example of a contemporary poet: we are talking about Francesco Guccini. Despite his brilliant position and significant career in the entertainment world, he had to face a bad episode that completely turned his life upside down.
Guccini was born in Modena, the city to which he dedicated a famous poem that went like this: “Psmall city, bastard place, did I understand you as soon as I was born or was it fate that pushed me away in three months?”. Precisely in this beloved city, the man spent his adolescence peacefully which he would later recount in Cow of a doghis second novel. In the same year, he began taking guitar lessons and adolescence represented an intense period of training and culture of the art at 360 degrees.
The man’s debut took place in 1967, when the CGD record company proposed him to participate in the Sanremo Festival as the author of the musical part of the song A love story. Two artists were chosen, Caterina Caselli and Gigliola Cinquetti, even if the artist did not pass the selections. The television debut is attributed to Giorgio Gaber who sang the famous song Auschwitz, followed by the piece written for Caselli The white bicycles, Nightmare no. 4.
Besides music, Guccini is also very active from the point of view of politics, so much so that in his songs his thoughts regarding his political orientation are often placed, as in the song The poisoned one in which the man will say: “But I never said that songs make revolutions, poetry can be made”. Numerous texts concern Guccini’s political action and thought to which we can refer: among these we can mention The Testament of a Clown from 2012, Up on the hill from 2012.
Despite the resounding success, the man had to face a drama that changed him forever.
Francesco Guccini and the lived drama: here’s what happened
A truly brilliant career that achieved over time by Francesco Guccini who recently made a revelation in the Propaganda Live broadcast on La7. Man, would it relate the traffic of Rome and that of Pavana where he lives, all in an album where he also wanted to tell what happened.
The man claimed to have lost his songwriting streak and the reason is staggering.
He would have confessed that thieves entered his home invading his privacy: “Since the last album I’m no longer able to write songs, I put the guitar in a corner and it only moved because thieves came into the house. L‘they took it and moved it to the middle of the room, perhaps they looked inside to see if there was something there”.
