Thionville. Disconnect the rainwater from the combined network

In Thionville, the urban community of Portes de France has been committed, since 2011, the date of the first master plan, to creating a new network to return rainwater to the natural environment. But the undertaking is vast: in Thionville 70% of the network is unitary, i.e. it collects rainwater and wastewater in the same pipe. And all this converges towards the Manom station which saturates… Logically, construction sites follow one another.

About six months of construction

The construction site of the moment has just begun in rue de l’Étoile, in Thionville Veymerange. As part of the rainwater disconnection policy, the community of the Thionville Portes de France agglomeration has undertaken the creation of a collector in this street. “The operation consists of collecting water from the streets and water from the roofs of local residents and channeling it into the natural environment,” explains Bertrand Mathieu, director of sanitation at CA. The new collector will join the one previously created in rue Saint-Martin to flow into the Veymerange. The agglomeration decided to start the works with the traditional method, with a trench opening. These works are located in the main road axis as well as across the green space. They are part of the sanitary competence of the CAPFT, which has validated them in its work program for the year 2022. This operation has been entrusted to the Sade-Cgth company for an estimated cost of 177,500 euros excluding taxes. The duration of the project is estimated at six months.
