The hockey component of the Ulysse Académie program stood out this past weekend by winning top honors at the One Hockey tournament in New Jersey.

The program’s Integration (U12) and Intermediate (U14) teams were crowned champions without losing a single game during the competition.

Lanaudoise’s teams achieved this feat despite having a limited number of games played prior to the tournament.

However, the founding president of the initiative, Mr. François Marcoux, explained that the players are looked after by staff with a lot of experience.

Ulysse Académie is a multisport program that was founded in 2007 and is located in Saint-Roch-de-L’Achigan.

The sports organization is found in several educational institutions in the region and its influence extends from primary school to Cégep.

Registered students are exposed to several disciplines such as rowing and mountain biking, but hockey remains a major sport.

The goal of this project is above all the academic success of the athletes.
