Grand Est Championships 2022: big news for Haut-Marnais

During the last day of the first stage, in the Grand Est, several Haute-Marnaise formations validated their ascent (notably Nogent, in GE4, the reserves of the ECAC and Chancenay, in GE5). In GE1, Eurville-Bienville finished second.

The weekend of 10 and 11 December 2022 saw the outcome of the first phase of the Grand Est team championship, with its ups and downs. Waiting for the decisions of the League.

Great East 1: Eurville-Bienville dolphin of Saint-André

In GE1, the “1” team of the Eurville-Bienville Youth received the neighbors of Ancerville. The locals started the match well, they dominated the opening of the match (6-2). The Haut-Marnais won the two doubles and validated their victory. With a clear round of captain Joffrey Hadet (1,836 points) and Brice Ringler (1,581 points), the eurvillo-bienvilloise team won (12-2) against Ancervillle and finished in second place in the group, one point behind Saint Andrew.

Grand Est 2: JEB’s reserve on the podium

In pool 1 of GE2, ECAC, penultimate, logically lost against Etival (2-12). Only Pic saved the honor of the Chaumontais, in an unfavorable tie.

In Group 2, the Eurville-Bienville “2” team traveled to Reims to meet Olympique Rémois “3”. In a room with no heating, with a thermometer reading less than 10°C, the two teams face each other before double. The Marnais take a significant lead by winning the latter.

Led by Alexis Boulogne (1,547 points) who scored another clear round, the eurvillo-bienvilloise team managed to get a draw (7-7). Les Jeunes d’Eurville-Bienville finished in 3rd place after occupying the top spot for several weeks. In addition, Chancenay finished fifth, after a draw against Ancerville “3” (7-7, including three points from Escalié).

Grand Est 3: tough, tough for Haut-Marnais

In swimming pool 1 of the GE3, the Eurovillo-Bienvillois table tennis players of the “3” team go to the Aube, in Saint-André-les-Vergers. Despite the late arrival of an Aube player allowing them to get a point through absence, Nord Haut-Marnais started the game badly. They recover by winning the two doubles. But that’s not enough: the Saint-André team wins the match (9-5) and goes to GE2, finishing in first place.

Note the two points in singles, by Kévin Bournot (985 points) against Raphaël Simonutti (1,054 points) and Bruno Delpas (1,077 points).

Team “3” finishes penultimate.

Eyes are turning to the league to see if this team’s future will be written in GE3 for the second stage. Chalindrey stays in group 7, with a sixth place and a final defeat against Charmes-Vincey (4-10).

Grand Est 4: Nogent above the group

In GE4, hen 1, Nogent had already been assured of the ascent for some time. The Nogentais blew up Troyes JG (14-0), with Vogel, Kwasiak, Thomas and Protoy. Hat ! CSB Saint-Dizier finished second, with a draw in Bar-sur-Seine ”3” and three points from Margot. A good phase for the Bragards.

In group 2, on the other hand, it was more complicated for the Bragarde reserve, last, who goes down a level, after a new setback against Fains-les-Sources (2-12).

Grand Est 5: two reserves rise

In GE5, pool 1, the ECAC reserve rose to GE4, with two points from Mugnier, Pose and Zorkic against Moussey (9-5). Montigny finished sixth, after an unimpressive loss to Brienne.

In pool 2 the reserve of Chancenay, with an impeccable Weynans, imitates that of Chaumont, on the rise after the new success against Arcis Mailly ”3” (11-3). CSB ”3”, exempt, arrived third.

In GE6, where there are no more hens, but dry matches, Nogent’s reserve won when Chalindrey’s one was successful due to a setback.

Grand Est 7: JEB “5” and Chalindrey “3” go up one floor

In GE7, pool 3, JEB’s team “4” moved to Fains-les-Sources for a close match that ended in defeat for the guests (6-4).

“We finished 5th out of seven teams entered. We are at our place with a team composed mainly of young players or adult beginners. Progress is visible, but it doesn’t translate into victories yet” analyzes Mathieu Konecny (500 points), captain of the Eurovillo-Bienvilloise team.

The “5” team from Eurville, already promised to leap in quality, continued its good run with a clear victory (9-1), in Chancenay.

The formation, led by Sébastien Delaunay, only accumulated victories during this stage. In pool 4, the special mention goes to Chalindrey “3”, who flew over the stage and switched to GE6. The start of the second phase of the team championship is set for the end of January 2023. The League indicates that the ascents and descents will be communicated within the next week.
