“There are at least a dozen prosecutions, including inspections involving very high levels of power and misuse of serious funds. Those around the highways are only part of those prosecutions.”
This was announced to the BNR by Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev, who is also a former Minister of Justice. He specified that among the areas affected by the proceeding in question was that of energy and confirmed that there were people with immunity.
Demerdzhiev said he hoped the prosecutor’s office showed “the same attitude and intensity of work” as demonstrated in the drug case.
It is very important for society that such an interaction takes place in the fight against corruption, the Interior Minister is categorical.
“This is an area of action where the prosecution must show the same determination. We have it, as long as it is addressed in good faith by the prosecution.”
The task, in his words, is to increase these proceedings, because “this is the way to stop the vicious practices that bleed the state” by draining public funds.
