We all know the author of Yonaguni He’s the most listened-to artist in the world, but it wasn’t until Bad Bunny wrapped up his Mexico tour that we learned the details thanks to the after party the Puerto Rican threw after his last concert. This is what we discovered.
By Alberto Rojas Eguiluz
We already knew that Bad Bunny became the most streamed artist in the world this year. On Spotify she has had more than 18.5 billion streams, and for the third consecutive year she has positioned herself as the most listened to on the platform, becoming the first to do so.
Curiously, Mexico is the country that listens to the Puerto Rican singer the most. For this reason, Spotify Mexico, together with Bad Bunny’s record label, came together to close the World’s Hottest Tour on a high note at an after party in Mexico City. Obviously, the videos of this exclusive party have already started circulating on social networks.

closure of the luxury tour
Bad Bunny closed his tour in Mexico and how. The after party was full of artists of the highest level, such as RauW Alenadro, Danna Paola, Kim Loaiza, Mario Bautista, JD Pantoja, Arcángel and Buscabulla. Even Bad Bunny himself took the stage to deliver a special performance that no one expected! The Puerto Rican singer sang “After the beach“, “disgusted“, “Callaita“And”The blackout” in the company of a merengue band.
The highlight of the evening was the Ring Ceremony, where Jeremy Erlich, Global Director of Music Content at Spotify, presented Benito with three rings, designed by Jason of Beverly Hills, much in the style of rings given to champions in sports such as American football . The rings symbolize each year that Bad Bunny has been the most streamed artist on Spotify globally. They also took the opportunity to showcase some of the plaques Spotify has created to commemorate every Bad Bunny song that has surpassed one billion views: “Yonaguni“, “Callaita“, “THE SONG“, “Te Bote – Remix“And”You don’t know me – Remix“
The king of the urban genre
Bad Bunny has contributed to the growth of reggaeton and trap worldwide: between 2018 and 2020, listening to this genre grew by 147 percent and that of Latin trap by 187 percent. According to Spotify numbers, in the past 90 days, 95 million listeners heard one of Bad Bunny’s songs for the first time, and 51% were from non-Spanish-speaking markets.
