SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — Puerto Rican salsa singer and musician “Lalo” Rodríguez was found dead Tuesday in a public housing project on U.S. territory, police said. He was 64 years old.
Police said although there were no visible signs of abuse on her body, an autopsy would determine the cause of death.
The singer, born Ubaldo Rodríguez Santos, had struggled with drugs and alcohol for years and had previously been charged with possession of cocaine.
Rodríguez was in Eddie Palmieri’s band and is best known for his 1988 hit, “Ven, devorame otra vez” or “Come, Devour Me Again”.
