North Kivu: Matanda General Hospital in Butembo equipped with an operating theatre

Kinshasa – This operating room is equipped with modern equipment adapted to specialist medicine.

Matanda General Hospital in Butembo in North Kivu has a Moïse Katumbi operating room. The inaugural ceremony of this donation was presided over on Monday 12 December by Monsignor Sikuli Paluku Melchizedech, bishop of the diocese of Butembo-Beni.

The bishop of the diocese of Butembo-Beni acknowledged that the construction of this infrastructure is an act that demonstrates the compassion of Moïse Katumbi towards the population made vulnerable by war.

He expressed his gratitude to the donor and asked those in charge of this hospital to take over this work and expressed his desire to see the example of Moise Katumbi, president of the Ensemble pour la République, inspire other generous hands.

MP Kakule Saasita, representative of the president of the Ensemble pour la République, Moise Katumbi, stressed that the delivery of this operating theater to Matanda is part of a social framework.

“Generally it is a social sign, of generosity, especially since someone who has put his hand in his pocket and shelled out a colossal sum to build a beautiful building like this, had a will. He is a Congolese animated by good will,” he added.

The ESU Minister’s representative for his part said it was thanks to the advocacy of Higher Education and University (ESU) Minister Muhindo Nzangi. The choice, he explained, was made on two cities following the number of war wounded.
