The latest in fashion often appears on celebrities, and this time it’s det Katie Holmes (43) Like thism may have revived a trend that many thought would remain in the archives. The Australian reports it News.

The 43-year-old recently attended iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball at New York’s Madison Square Garden, where she appeared on the red carpet in an outfit that many haven’t seen in a while – and which has now gone viral.

Holmes had donned a tight navy blue strapless shirt that fell to her thighs, along with olive straight leg pants and black sneakers.

Many people are probably instantly transported back to the time before Instagram, when celebs like Hilary Duff and Mischa Barton strutted down red carpets wearing shimmery miniskirts over pants. News reports refer to that time period as “The Hills era,” a reference many ’90s kids probably buy.

But despite a look back at younger times, there isn’t much positive feedback on Twitter.

“This trend showed its ugly face years ago and honestly how dare Katie Holmes be so sassy as to try and bring it back,” writes one, who has attached screenshots of other dresses in the same style.

“Unfortunately, I can’t comment on Katie Holmes’ ola top + pant combo because I also lived through the early 2000s and made decisions I regret,” recalls another.

“Katie Holmes has stood up and decided it’s 2002,” says a third, while a fourth goes as far as to say the actor should be “punished.”
