We finally got to see The Game Awards potvrzení PC cabbage Returnal roguelite event, speculated for several months. Shortly thereafter, the product page was posted on Steam, where, in addition to the description of the game, we also received very interesting information, namely the system requirements. Returnal has been a PS5 exclusive up until now, which in itself says this is a fairly challenging game, the hardware requirements only back this up.
The minimal ones probably won’t surprise you that much. At least an Intel Core i5-6400 or AMD Ryzen 5 1500X processor, plus 16GB of RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 with 6GB of VRAM or AMD Radeon RX 580 with 8GB of VRAM graphics card. It is more interesting with RAM, where you can already find the number 16GB in the basic requirements, usually it is 8. The game also requires 60GB of disk space, and an SSD is of course recommended.
As for the recommended requirements, you should prepare at least an Intel Core i7-8700 or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X CPU and an Nvidia RTX 2070 Super (8GB VRAM) or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT (12GB) graphics card. By far the most notable here is the RAM again, as 32GB is listed here, which is truly unheard of for a game. We will wait for the release if the game really needs such a capability.
Finally, I would like to add that the game authors from the Finnish studio Housemarque are collaborating with Climax Studios on the PC version. Returnal will also arrive with updates that arrived on PS5 only later, namely Tower of Sisyphus and co-op mode. However, it will only work with other players on PC, not PlayStation.
We still don’t know the exact release date for Returnal on PC. At least you can add the game to your wish list for now on Steam.
