NEW YORK – A Brooklyn man faces manslaughter charges in connection with the brutal beating to death of a 60-year-old man who died days after being found with a head injury on a sidewalk, police said.
On Dec. 4, police received a report of a man needing medical attention on Hegeman Avenue, New York City police said. When officers arrived, they found Arthur Fleschner lying on the sidewalk with a head injury. He was later transported by EMS to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, where he died on Thursday, four days after being found, according to the NYPD.
Police say an investigation revealed Fleschner was involved in a dispute with Danny Quiles, 52, of Brooklyn, at the scene of the crash. The dispute reportedly escalated into a physical fight in which Fleschner was punched multiple times and was thrown to the ground.
Following Fleschner’s death, Quiles was arrested and charged with manslaughter Friday at approximately 4:13 p.m.
Information for Quiles’ attorney was not immediately available.
