China has abandoned the zero vision. Now creepy queues have appeared.

More corona patients lead to overcrowded emergency departments in Chinese hospitals. People often have to stand for five or six hours in long lines, sometimes in very cold weather.

After three years of zero vision, China has changed course. The most drastic measures are about to be rolled back after widespread protests:

  • A recent PCR test is no longer required to enter shopping malls and other public places.
  • Quarantine rules have been relaxed.
  • The mobile app that was used to map the movements of 1.4 billion needs to be shut down.

Areas considered so-called high-risk zones fell by 85% in one week, Reuters reports.

But with fewer measures, the spread of the infection is expected to increase. It has already led to more patients in hospitals and could cause many more deaths in the long run. One sector in particular can benefit.
