The Saint-Joseph college and the Sainte-Philomène school of Montluçon participate in the Chœur à cœur project organized by the Cultural Action of Catholic Education.
One hundred children from CM2 and 6th rehearsed on Friday 9 December with Justine Voisin, teacher from CM2, and Jean-Charles Sikora, music teacher in the Saint-Joseph colleges in Montluçon and Saint-Benoît in Moulins.
“This is the first year that Saint-Joseph participates in this project. I chose to enroll in the 6th to motivate them to practice more music and not to stay on theoretical courses. »
Jean-Charles Sikora (music teacher in Montluçon and Moulins)
Peace-themed concerts this year
“Furthermore, I found this choral project interesting, with the theme this year of peace, in this period that I find sad”, underlines Jean-Charles Sikora.
Montluçonnais students will sing with five other Allier institutes during a concert at the Sacré-Coeur in Moulins on Tuesday 13 December at 2.30pm.
Jean-Charles Sikora is a music teacher in Montluçon and Moulins.
A project followed in two other departments
The project of the Cultural Action of Catholic Education is not limited to the Allier department as the students of the Haute-Loire sing this afternoon in the basilica of Saint-Julien in Brioude.
A final concert will be organized on Thursday 15 December at the Jeanne-d’Arc church in Clermont-Ferrand. The project will thus mobilize 1,900 children from the CP to the Terminal in the three departments.
Donations for two associations
The Chœur à cœur project also has a solidarity vocation as gift baskets were prepared in the classes and a fundraiser was started thanks to a candle sale organized by the teachers. The donations collected will be donated to Secours Populaire and Secours Catholique
