Morocco decided to take the extraordinary step of inviting each player’s chosen parents and loved ones to join Qatar. The warmth of the family is one of the reasons for the ferocity of Morocco in World Cup 2022 till now.
Head coach Walid Reragui and the Moroccan Football Federation agreed that the players of the team that appeared at the 2022 World Cup had the right to choose their beloved family members to go to Qatar.
It was the large group that eventually turned the hotel Morocco stayed into into a parent-child campsite.
From the outset, Reragugui really wanted the familiar approach to be one of the cornerstones of Morocco’s strength.
“Our success would not have been possible without the happiness of our parents,” Reragugui said as quoted by Al Jazeera.
Not only players, Reragugui also brought his parents to Qatar. For Fatima, Reragugui’s mother, this is also the first time she has gone abroad to see her son compete.
“Throughout my playing and coaching career, I have never traveled to see him.”
“I have lived in France for more than 50 years and this is the first competition that made me leave Paris,” said Fatima.
The presence of the parents in the Moroccan camp made the atmosphere really warm. The parents also got along well with each other and this made the support for their children on the pitch even stronger.
The unity in the Moroccan squad is increasingly felt when parents consider all the players who wear the red-and-green kit as their own children.

Therefore, it is no surprise that when Morocco won a game, the victory celebrations were even warmer on the pitch.

Morocco will struggle to face France in the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup. Morocco’s confidence will be bolstered by the love of family who are present directly on the sideline so that voices of support can be heard immediately.
