The Saudi public security department has announced that those coming from Saudi Arabia in private vehicles must have prior permission to enter Qatar. Vehicles arriving at the border without obtaining permission will be sent back. The safety department has also clarified that those using the bus service should have reservation documents for the same.
The public security department has issued an alert due to increased traffic at the Saudi-Qatar border. All documents must be presented including the reservation obtained at Qatar Parking. The Saudi public safety department said vehicles that don’t do so will be turned away before reaching the border.
Those who rely on the bus services by parking their vehicles at the Salwa border should also have reservation documents for traveling by bus. The security department said that those who do not produce sufficient documents to book the bus will be stopped at the checkpoint.
The main requirement is that those traveling to Qatar with their own vehicles must obtain a vehicle permit through the Qatar Interior Ministry portal twelve hours before travel. The tightening of conditions came when people with GCC residency status were allowed to travel to Qatar without a Haya card.
