NFL: Buffalo Bills beat New York Jets 20-12

Josh Allen threw a touchdown pass, as well as scoring a rushing touchdown, as the Buffalo Bills beat the New York Jets 20-12.

Laurent Duvernay-Tardif was in uniform for the first time this season on the side of the Jets (7-6). The offensive lineman, however, was not in the starting lineup in New York’s field. Duvernay-Tardif joined the Jets’ practice roster last month and was added to the active roster Wednesday.

The Bills (10-3) scored first in this game. Allen combined with tight end Dawson Knox on a 24-yard run for the touchdown. In challenging weather conditions in Buffalo, only seven points were scored in the first half.

The Jets’ response then came in the third quarter. Zonovan Knight found the end zone after a 13-yard run. Allen, however, restored the Bills’ lead less than three minutes later on a five-yard run.

Still the Jets’ starting quarterback in this duel against the Bills, Mike White was forced out of the game briefly in the third quarter after being hit hard by Matt Milano. Joe Flacco came into the game and suffered a run on his first offensive play.

White made a comeback and finished the game with 268 passing yards. Allen completed 16 of 27 passes for 147 yards. Stefon Diggs had a fairly uneventful game with just three receptions for 37 yards.

The Bills’ defensive front worked hard against Robert Saleh’s men. White was the victim of three quarterback sacks and Flacco was also hit once behind the line of scrimmage.
