When Sanju was overlooked, many fans suggested that he play for another country. Now, reports are coming out that the Ireland cricket team has shown interest in including Sanju Samson in their squad. They have also reportedly promised that the cricketer will have a chance to play in every match.
The reason the Ireland Cricket Association showed interest in Sanju was because the team needed a captain and batsman. But it was reported that the actor turned down this offer. Though Sanju thanked Ireland for considering him, the cricketer is quoted as saying that he can only play for India and would never think of playing cricket for another country. Meanwhile, there is no official confirmation of the offer to Sanju. Sanju also didn’t respond about it.
Samson made his international debut in 2015, but played just 27 games in all formats. Sanju played most of them in 2022. With senior players constantly rested, Sanju was given an opportunity. It was Sanju who led Rajasthan Royals to their first IPL final since 2008 earlier this year.
